Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

_{Or something less aggressive. Hi there! Yes you! The main purpose of this group is to provide spaces where writers can meet each other and make some friends. We have less of a focus on the lit bit and more of a focus on the people behind them... so why don't you tell us something more about you.

I'll go first because if no one replies then I'm quite used to talking to myself.

My name's Kate. Here on DA I am KathrynODriscoll but you may have met me before as Flutterings which was my previous username. I am 25 years old and a mature student about to start a degree in the beautiful city of Bath, England. I lovely poetry, singing (out of tune), dogs, shoes, earrings and nail varnish. The last three of which I like because they can be beautiful no matter what size you are. I joined the Lit Love Community (/ started it) because I have social anxiety disorder which limits my contact with people, currently although I'm working on it, and I like to meet people. That's why I started #LitLove in 2008, and why I am reopening it soon.. I like to help people and I like to talk to people... and I don't take criticism well. Giggles.

Hello,

My name is Shane McKinney. I'm a computer engineer from the North Texas area. I'm not particularly socially inclined, myself, and I tend to keep to myself IRL. I have made a conscious effort to be more outgoing on dA in recent years, and I have groups and projects and friends here that make it easier. I'm on dA mainly to share my poetry and hang out with cool, intelligent artists, as well as to try and help out anyone who needs it. I tend to write exclusively in first person confessional free verse style, and I like to think of myself as an experimental poet. I first started writing many years ago to express the inexpressible and find an outlet for powerful emotions. Nothing much has changed, in that regard. Hi Katie, it's lovely to meet you!

My name by birth is different, but I go by Dawni as much as I can these days. I've just turned 30 and I can relate somewhat to your struggles with social anxiety as I have several MH diagnosis (diagnosies?) of my own. I know a fair bit about mental health stuff in general, and am looking to do some work towards reducing the stigma around it - in particular around the condition of BPD - in the near future.

I too love poetry, singing out of tune, dogs, and earrings. Dogs aren't my absolute favourite animal, though - that honour goes to giraffes, who are gentle, elegant, graceful... and can stick their own tongue up their nose.

I can be a bit of a clown sometimes, I like to make people smile/laugh, and that's particularly apparent whenever I'm uncomfortable. I've done a bit of travelling, (far more than I ever expected in my entire lifetime to be honest), and surprised myself by liking it, but I will probably always call Australia home. At the moment, I'm living in Caboolture, which is just outside of Brisbane, and despite its reputation, I like it.

Before I got so ill, I used to work in childcare, and I still want to go back to it when I'm well enough. Truthfully, working with and caring for small children really lights me up inside, and I look forward to the day when I can hold my own in my arms.
